We’re so excited to see more families making plans to get out and enjoy activities together. And with the holidays just around the corner, our bookings are filling up for Thanksgiving and Big Bear. But don’t despair, we still have some openings, and it’s a great time to plan your November Big Bear Getaway.
The weather is hard to predict, but we usually see some snow by November. And even when there is no snow, there’s plenty to do. Here are some of our favorites:
Spend some time at the Big Bear Zoo. We’re always pleased to hear from guests who discover this gem during their visit to Big Bear. The zoo is small enough to enjoy in just an afternoon, but big enough to offer some great examples of local wildlife. You can enjoy seeing bears, coyotes, a badger, a bobcat, eagles, and much more. The Big Bear Alpine Slide is open year round with a variety of adventures and rides depending upon the season and the weather. They recently completed the Mineshaft Coaster, and it’s a hit. You’ll hop on your private sled and you’re in control of the brakes for the gravity-propelled ride down the state-of-the-art stainless steel tube track. The track stretches for a mile and you’ll get up to speeds over 25mph. And this is just one of the fun activities you can enjoy during your visit. Some Great Choices For Your Next Getaway

We love talking to guests and learning about their plans. Over the years, we’ve hosted weddings, honeymoons, family reunions, church retreats, and lots of just plain family fun. It’s always a delight to help people find the right property for their getaway, and we’re going to take a look at a couple of our guests’ favorites.
Cabin 49 is a recent addition to our family of properties. We call it the “Brand New San Gorgonio Lodge.” It was built in 2019 and sits on a treed lot within a 10 minute walk of Snow Summit. It has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths with room for 12 guests. Its great room has a wall of windows looking out on the forest, and there are plenty of comfy places to relax near the fireplace. There’s a slipper bathtub in the master suite just waiting for you to slip in and feel all your stress dissolve away. As the colder weather starts moving in to Big Bear, one of our personal favorites is Cabin 12, “Indoor Pool and Spa at Beautiful Lakeside Retreat.” As the name reveals, this cabin boasts an indoor pool and spa. As your family splashes around in the private pool, be sure to tell the kids how when you were their age, you had to walk all the way to the city pool and share it with a hundred other kids. November Things to do In Big Bear

Are you ready to get out of town? We’ve been getting lots of calls from people saying exactly that. As our start inching back toward a more normal existence, one of the things we all miss most is travel and time to relax with those closest to us. It’s a great time to check out all the November things to do in Big Bear.
Oktoberfest has its closing weekend on November 5-7th. Many people have this on their calendar to come back each year, and we’re happy it’s continuing this year. You’ll enjoy lots of fun, great international beers, and you can polka till you drop. It’s the one event every year we get to break our our lederhosen without having the neighbors post strange things about us on social media. You can plan to find mugs of beer bigger than your head, and fun activities for everyone, including a bunch for the kids.
Women in Big Bear looking for a fun group paddle board activity or just want to learn the basics of paddle boarding, can meet every Thursday at 5pm at Captain John’s Fawn Harbor. Scheduled to run Thursdays until November 26th, Captain John’s hosts this event that they affectionately call, “Babes on Boards.” For a $5 fee, you’ll get a board rental and can join with more experienced boarders to get some pointers. Be sure to bring an appetizer and plan to watch an awesome sunset. More info:

Wyatt’s Grill and Saloon is offering patio dining Wednesday through Sunday and features country music on Wednesday nights. They hope to restart their line dancing fun soon, but for now you can enjoy some great food most nights and some great music on Wednesday nights. They’re also delivering to most areas of Big Bear.
